If the pictures haven’t already convinced you that Clancy is the perfect addition to your family, let us tell you about this precious guy.
Clancy was found as a stray in Joliet, and brought to their animal control. He quickly became a favorite amongst the staff because of his genuinely sweet and loving demeanor. We aren’t even sure how to explain how special Clancy’s demeanor is as we fear we won’t do it justice. But let us try!
Clancy embraces everyone he meets with calmness and utter adoration. Make eye contact with Clancy and this guy’s puppy eyes will brighten, and his tail will start spinning. Give him the invitation to engage with you and Clancy will be leaning into you for cuddles and pets and gently melting in your arms if you let him. Cuddling is his favorite pastime.
Clancy is an easy dog to have around. Need a lazy day for cuddling up with some Netflix or a good book? Clancy’s your guy. Want to spend the day out trying out some new breweries? Clancy’s your guy! Need a sidekick for an errand in your car? Clancy is your guy. Clancy just loves people and wants to be around them. But he’s not the in your face, jumping up and down kind of love giver. Clancy has a calmness about him that is infectious, and he always waits for an invitation. Now this doesn’t mean Clancy isn’t ever excitable, it’s just a reserved kind of excitable! He loves toys when he’s in the mood, and will joyfully gallop through the yard like a horse when he’s extra happy.
Now, please don’t let Clancy’s age deceive you. We are often surprised by how spry he is, and that he is still very much a young dog. But we absolutely appreciate his mature personality that comes with his years. Recently, Clancy lost his hearing to an untreated infection in his ears, but he has eased into his deafness seamlessly. And anyway, deaf dogs rock!! He rarely barks, sleeps so soundly, and is learning hand signals like a champ. After all, all he wants to do is make people happy.
As per Clancy’s skills, he is solidly housebroken, and crate trained. He takes food and items from hands as gently as possible, and is incredibly respectful of a home environment. He knows sit and paw (and he loves giving that paw to ask for more love). Clancy is also good with other dogs, but is just as happy to be on his own. This guy is move in ready and we can’t wait to meet his family to be.
The adoption donation for Clancy is $100.
